Video Production Cost, WarrnamboolJuly 30, 2019
Providing a straight answer to the question of ‘what will a video cost?’ can be tricky. I often liken it to asking, ‘what will a new kitchen for my house will cost?’ Now, I know I can go down to Bunnings in Warrnambool and get a kitchen for $3,000 and install it myself. Perhaps ending up spending $5,000 in total. I also know that many people will spend $25,000 on a kitchen. While others could spend close to $100,000. Video pricing is similar; there are cheap entry-level videos, ranging right through to quite extravagant videos. So, anybody that tells you ‘here is a cookie-cutter preset video price’ probably has a sting in their tail that you will feel somewhere down the track.
Video production can vary widely in its complexity. Some people can make a 30-second video simply by picking up their phone and speaking into it – all in one 30 second slab – and then posting it online; an extremely simple way to make a video. Other videos gather different shots from different sources, with camera operators travelling to various locations. Involving lighting crews and audio operators, talent and locations. All needing to be aligned by a busy Producer and Director in order to complete the video. And for each hour in the field, there can be often as many as three or more hours in the edit suite; so, a one day shoot might be between three and five days in edit. In this type of scenario, the time and costs can add up quite quickly.
These two extreme examples, are why The Tribe takes the time to understand your needs thoroughly. And why most work completed is based on quoting. We strive to offer you nothing but the best value for money. We are not the most expensive in the market, but we’re certainly not even trying to be the cheapest because in order to be the cheapest, corners need to be cut – not in your best interest – nor ours.
That all said, most video production The Tribe has completed in the Warrnambool would sit around the $2,000 – $3,000 mark and would normally finish up with a 2 – 3 minute video. Some have been as cheap as $700 and some as expensive as $6,000 but that average should give you an indication of video production costs from a reputable, professional video production company.
